After taking Trent Kaniuga's (https://www.artstation.com/trentkaniuga) tutorial on environment design and rendering, this was my homework assignment - a dungeon design. His tutorial provides a grey-box 3D model to use as a foundation for design. As he recommended to stand out from others, it was decided to take the design in a completely different direction. Instead of an overgrown standard dungeon, I opted for a more "sacrificial chamber".
The original line art sketch presented more of a religious gathering temple setting. The design quickly evolved into an underground, scary, tribal type dungeon.
